About
St. Anthony Domiciliary Clinic was born out of love, compassion, and the desire to make a difference in the lives of mothers and children in the Makindye community. Founded in 1989 by Ms. Grace Kyanjo and her late husband, Mr. Godfrey Kyanjo, the clinic’s journey began as a deeply personal mission.
As a young mother with children born in close succession, Ms. Grace faced challenges finding reliable caregivers for her growing family. This struggle inspired her to resign from her job and partner with her husband to create a place where women and children could receive the care they truly deserved.
During their early years, they uncovered a pressing need for maternal health services in the community. It was heartbreaking to see women in their eighth month of pregnancy who had never attended antenatal care. The only available maternal health care providers, was one village birth assistant who risked their lives because they did not have any protective equipment back then.

Determined to bridge this gap, they collaborated with village health workers, LCs, KCCA to to extend outreach and education to those who needed it most.
For over 30 years, St. Anthony Domiciliary Clinic has stood as a beacon of hope and health, serving countless families with dedication and kindness.
Though Mr. Godfrey Kyanjo is no longer with us, his vision and commitment live on through every service we provide, every mother we support, and every child we nurture.
At St. Anthony Domiciliary Clinic, we continue to honor their legacy, ensuring that compassionate, quality maternal and child health care remains accessible to all.
